It's smart to recycle -- smart for the planet, and surprisingly smart for business!

Libra Industries realized long ago what high cost gloves can represent for our customers, adding nothing to the product, yet detracting from profits. Working closely with our customers to reduce costs has been our company's mission for over 30 years now. Our success has made Libra one of the largest new glove distributors and recyclers in the country.

The Process:

Analysis

There is incredible diversity in glove construction and materials -- no wonder companies who use them can loose site of cost-containment! Libra supplies more than 100 types of gloves to our customers, but more importantly, we provide the analysis and understanding of best glove for function. And since we maintain such a huge inventory of new gloves -- plus recycle products, you free up space and allow plant personnel to focus on your core business. End result: savings.

Distribution

The hallmark of an advanced glove program is a well-developed distribution system. It is the distributor that provides the elasticity between manufacturing and demand, which can fluctuate wildly. When demand increases, it is the distribution system which reacts to put product in your hands quickly. Through a network of affiliated distributors across much of the country, customers are assured of a continuous flow of gloves into plants weekly.

Utilizing a fleet of trucks serving Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, used gloves may be picked up, processed, repaired where necessary and returned each week, reducing the number of gloves required in a program and allowing for tighter inventory control.

Cleaning

After gloves leave your facility, carefully tagged so that no mix ups or switched deliveries occur, they are placed in a shaker to remove metal chips and other foreign matter, then sorted by material type for either dry cleaning or water washing. Libra uses an exclusive Multi-Kleen process: fully approved cleaning agents that yield cleaner gloves, minimum shrinkage and longer glove life. A minimum of three rinses ensures that no harmful residues remain in gloves delivered back to you.

Sorting, Repairing, Bundling

After cleaning, gloves are sorted for style and size and inspected for holes. Where necessary, patches of appropriate materials are heat and pressure applied by trained Libra personnel. Any non-usable gloves (according to standards the customer sets with Libra), as well as the reusable cleaned and repaired gloves, are counted, bundled and labeled for return to your facility.

Tracking

Our invoicing process is clear and easily auditable to each shipment, showing number of bundles and pieces for each type of glove. At a glance, receiving and dispersing personnel can find any glove needed by using the packing slip. Customers also use this form to monitor how a particular glove is performing based on scrap rates.

Simplified paperwork assures the customer that charges reflect only work performed.

The Result

Gloves represent indirect costs to employers across all industries. Indirect costs that add nothing to product, yet deteriorate profit! Customers who experience the ease and cost-savings of the Libra Glove Recycling process agree that it is one of the simplest and most natural opportunities to save money on "indirect" costs that exists.
